A WARM WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS MR RON BOWE AND LANCE BLACK , WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR INPUT AND SUPPORT AROUND THE CLUB FOR THE 2003/04 SEASON AND BEYOND.
A BIG THANKS TO MR GEOFF CAMPBELL FOR HIS DEDICATION TO THE COMMITTEE OVER THE YEARS , UNFORTUNATELY GEOFF HAS DECIDED NOT RUN FOR RE-ELECTION THIS YEAR , BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS GEOFF WILL STILL BE WITH US WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE CLUB . (thanks Geoff)
A NIGHT AT THE GREYHOUNDS WAS HELD ON SATURDAY 16TH OF AUGUST , THIS WAS A FANTASTIC EVENING OF FUN AND EXCITEMENT WHICH RAISED FUNDS FOR THE CLUB . IF YOU MISSED IT I AM SURE YOU WILL HEAR PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IT FOR SOME TIME TO COME. OVER 100 PEOPLE TURNED UP AND A BIG THANKS TO EVERY ONE WHO ATTENDED AND TO THE ORGANISERS. THE FOOD AND VENUE WERE EXCELLENT , I JUST WISH I HAD LISTENED TO SHORTIES TIP’S.
CONGRATULATIONS TO BRAD SPARK AND GREG BERESI ON THEIR SELECTION TO TRIAL FOR WA STATE TITLES FOR THE 2003/04 SEASON WELL DONE GUY’S KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. FDCC JUNIOR SELECTIONS . JUNIOR SELECTIONS HAVE COMMENCED ON FRIDAY 15TH AUGUST FOR U15’S & 17’S AT COCKBURN INDOOR CENTRE . A GOOD NUMBER OF POTENTIAL DISTRICT PLAYERS HAVE BEEN INVITED DOWN TO PUT THEIR SKILLS BEFORE THE FREMANTLE SELECTORS ROSS GREAR AND PETER WILKINSON. UNDER 13’S TRIALS SHOULD COMMENCE IN SEPTEMBER A DATE IS YET TO BE DECIDED.
-------------------------------- The 2002/2003 season has Fremantle finishing on a high . A fantastic year was achieved and everyone is to be congratulated.
Head coach Ross Greer summed it all up with his speech at the end of year function complimenting the players for their dedication and team work. The club is enjoying a period of growth and solidarity and if every one listens and work together as they have done this season 2003/2004 can only be better. (Well done to our coaches Ross , Robbie and Joe)
It was heartening to see so many life members enjoying themselves at the wind up and getting involved with presentations and speeches it only serves to strengthen our club with their presence and involvement.
Club President John Beattie made a fine speech on the future of the club and the achievements this season with 2nd grade and Colts winning the flag. Our 4th grade players were congratulated on their achievement of minor premiers and our 1st grade who finished just out of the top six by .80 . Fremantle finished equal fifth in the club championship. Fantastic result.
John touched on the work carried out during the season that the committee had done in running the club ,together with our invaluable helpers in the kitchen and of course our bar person Alby who always has a smile on his face and a raffle book in his hand.
A sad note with passing of Mr Bob Ballintine during the season a stalwart of the club and a man who our pavilion is named after , our thoughts are with his family.
Farewells were made to some dedicated people who are leaving us Jamie Spark and Brian Muggleton , Brian our WACA delegate and past president is fortunate to be holidaying around Australia. Jamie Spark Vice president of house, WACA Junior delegate., SWMJCC delegate and all-round one man army is off to work in Melbourne , Thank you and good luck guys.
Our MC David Shorte kept the evening moving along with his witty humour and effervescent nature a job well done shortte.

Services to the club award goes to John Brown I was unable to take a photo of myself but you know what I look like. I am very honoured to have received this award as I have only been at the club for two years and there are many dedicated people helping out. ( Thank You)
1st Grade batting award goes to Michael Brown unfortunately Michael has returned to England and I don’t have a photo of him. . Michael made – 675runs, at an average of 48.21 . Well done Michael.

2nd grade batting award goes to David Barnes unfortunately David has returned to England and I do not have a photo of him. David made 475 runs at an average of 47.50. Well done Barnsy.

Well done Grant , (Grant is also Captain of the 4th grade)
4th grade bowling award goes to Brian Powe 26 wickets at an average of 8.46.
Well done Brian ( the photo’s a bit fuzzy but by this time so was the photographer.) 1st grade patrons cricketer of the year award goes to Michael Brown 2nds/3rds and 4th grade encouragements awards were sponsored by the Cricket shop thanks Steve. Well done Mark Hackett.
Rhett Hollick Captain of the victorious Colts giving his speech prior to handing out the medallions to the team. Well done guys and it was good to see two of our young up and coming players Greg Beresi and Paddo attend the function and receive their medallions .
The girls in the social club worked diligently throughout the season and did a marvellous job with BBQ’s and my favourite the Mexican night . Some of the girls are seen here with Alby yes that’s Alby in a suite and no bandanna.

It was a pleasure to have Shirley McKay ( Chairperson Fremantle sport and Recreation Advisory Committee) and her husband, Alistair attend the evening. An entertaining evening which was enjoyed by all , once again thanks to everyone for their assistance and help throughout the season and we look forward to seeing you next year. Congratulations to all the players , next year is going to be spectacular. To the life members we look forward to seeing you around the club next season.
